Sweetly Reaching Out At Christmas

Baskets are hand delivered directly following our Christmas Eve Church Service.
School Supply Drive
During the August Soup for the Soul Meal, the Young Adult Small Group sponsor a school supply drive and give away. This project supplies families with the needed classroom items for students entering the new school year.
Community Food Bank
The third Wednesday of each month Oxford First participates as a Mobile Pantry Partner distribution point for the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
Through this agreement we distribute food boxes supplied by the Department of Agriculture on a first-come-first-served basis in the drive-through of the Tommy Moore Memorial Center beginning at 11:00 a.m. until packages are exhausted. Contact Tony Morris for more information.
Emmaus Cluster Meeting
OXFUMC continues to support the Emmaus Community by opening our Family Life Center to the Cheaha Emmaus Cluster for regular monthly planning meetings. Our facilities are also used to accommodate Emmaus Walk training sessions. OXFUMC recognizes the good works and God’s interaction with His people through this ministry.
When: Monthly Meetings – Last Thursday of every month
Location: TMMC (Family Life Center)
Time: Begins at 6:30 pm
Interfaith Ministries
OXFUMC participates with Interfaith ministries to serve people in need in Calhoun County. Together we provide assistance and serve as an advocate for individuals and families in crisis. We foster interfaith cooperation and understanding as we provide a caring environment for people of all ages and socio-economic levels. Specifically, OXFUMC provides much needed personal hygiene items, snacks, and bags of groceries to supply Thanksgiving meals.
Community Enabler
To continue our efforts in supporting community-based outreach, OXFUMC, is actively involved with Community Enabler Developer. This outreach organization enables the community to become sensitized to the needs of the poor and to participate in public and private advocacy for the disadvantaged by supporting their needs of food, clothing, and utility assistance. To encourage the sustainment of the organization, OXFUMC has an active Board of Directors member.
